Celebrating my bonus birthday!

This past Wednesday was my five-year bonus birthday.

I almost didn’t make it to 59. And I was a dumpster fire for a very long time following my 2021 Valentine’s Day Miracle. It was a difficult, messy, complicated time. 

But I learned an important lesson during those years. 

God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness. 

He carried me during a very dark time—and he still does.

So now I’m John 2.0. And 63 is the new 36.

Now—every day is a bonus day. 

To celebrate God’s grace.

To love the people God puts in my path.

To honor the people who were a part of my rescue and recovery. 

To encourage other people who are going through their own dark, difficult, messy, complicated journeys. 

That’s why I want to encourage you on your journey.

I thank God for you.

And please remember. You still have bonus days, too. 

Whoever you are and whatever your struggles, you have the bonus opportunity to be the person God made you to be, and to be the answer to other people’s prayers.
